Meet the coaching team
Specialist coaching is central to STRYDE.
Our team brings together experienced practitioners, competitive athletes and specialists across Track & Field, Strength & Conditioning, Sport Climbing, Judo and Basketball.
Each coach contributes deep expertise in their own discipline, helping children build stronger movement foundations, refine technique and develop the physical qualities that support them across sport. Together, the team provides a breadth of coaching knowledge that allows development to be shaped around the individual child.

What coaches look at
Each discipline gives our coaches a different view of how a child moves, controls their body and responds to a challenge.
Track & Field
What we look at: Running mechanics, acceleration, speed and rhythm.
Why it matters: These observations help us understand how efficiently a child produces and controls speed.
Strength & Conditioning
What we look at: Strength, trunk control, balance and movement quality.
Why it matters: These qualities show how well a child can control their body and form the physical foundation for many sporting movements.
Sport Climbing
What we look at: Grip strength, body positioning, coordination and movement planning.
Why it matters: Climbing helps us see how well a child controls their body, solves movement problems and adapts their position.
Judo
What we look at: Balance, footwork, body control and stability.
Why it matters: Judo shows us how a child maintains control when their balance is challenged or when they have to respond to another person’s movement.
Basketball
What we look at: Coordination, spatial awareness, reaction and change of direction.
Why it matters: These observations help us understand how well a child reacts, adjusts their movement and stays controlled at speed.
Across every discipline, coaches also pay attention to how a child understands instructions, responds to feedback, adapts when something is difficult and applies a correction on the next attempt.
Together, these observations help us identify both strengths and the areas that should be developed next.
Start with an assessment trial
Your child joins a two-hour coached group session, where we observe how they move, respond to coaching and handle different physical challenges.
You’ll receive a written assessment within 48 hours, with our observations and recommended next steps.
Choose a trial session yourself, or WhatsApp us and we’ll suggest a suitable first discipline.
