A STRYDE coach observing a child during a movement exercise

How STRYDE trains your child

Your child can train across five disciplines, with the mix shaped around their goals, current sport, what our coaches observe and the days your family can manage.

Five disciplines. Different ways to develop.

Each discipline challenges your child differently, helping build a broader range of strength, speed, coordination, control and movement skills.

Our coaches observe how your child moves, learns, responds to instruction and handles different challenges.

The science behind the programme

STRYDE uses structured practice, varied movement and training adjusted to the individual child. These principles help explain why the programme combines several disciplines and changes with the child over time.

Research references checked 23 August 2026. These studies did not test STRYDE. They describe group-level evidence and do not promise a specific result for any child.

01

Structured training builds movement skill

A 2024 systematic review included 27 studies. Its meta-analysis of 26 studies found moderate-to-large improvements in motor competence.

02

Broad experience can support later performance

A meta-analysis of 51 reports involving 6,096 athletes found that adult world-class athletes had more childhood and adolescent multi-sport practice than national-class athletes.

Early specialisation needs care

A 2024 clinical review links early single-sport specialisation with higher injury, burnout and dropout risk, and recommends multi-sport involvement for athletes under 14.

Their training mix can change as they develop

There is no fixed combination every child has to follow. Some children train in the same two disciplines each week, while others change their mix as their goals and sporting needs evolve.

Leave the first session knowing more

After the trial, you receive a written assessment covering what our coach observed, your child’s strengths and areas that may benefit from further development.

Starting in one discipline does not mean your child has to stay there. It gives our coach enough time to observe them properly before recommending what may come next.
